Disbudding is available at $10 per goat. Disbudding is best done when the kid is around 12 days old. Disbudding is done with a very hot disbudding iron. Disbudding only takes a few minutes,and when it is all over,most kids just go about life like nothing has happened.
Why Disbudd?
It is a personal choice whether to disbudd or not. Some of the benefits of disbudding are:no more goats caught in fences,no more goats hooked up in eachothers collars,no more bad injuries to other goats,to you, your children or other pets.
*Although every precation is taken to make disbudding as quick and comfortable as possible,after effects can occur.I will not be held responsable for any side effects due to the disbudding of your goat. Some of the more common are: mild swelling around the eyes,mild bleeding (especially if the kid scratches the freshly burnt "bud" off). More severe side effects: severe swelling in the eye erea,major bleeding,brain damage and death.The more severe side effects are usually caused by inexperienced disbudders.If you are not sure,get information from the person you choose to disbudd,don't be afraid to ask for names and phone numbers of past clients.
